Henry C. Phillips (aka Shade Jonze) May 14,1952-
A versatile writer, performer, songwriter, singer, musician, novelist, poet and comic.
He was born on a small dairy farm near Cortland, New York in 1952. The product of a Catholic high school education, he attended Siena College outside Albany, New York where where he graduated magna cum laude in 1974 with a B. A. in English. He worked on Masters Degree at the famous Middlebury College Breadloaf School of English.
In northern Indiana, he is best known as "the man who sings Johnny Cash." His traveling tribute to Johnny Cash has been widely seen in the mid west at state fairs, festivals and other outdoor venues including the well known Foellinger Theater in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His popular show has also appeared at the Paramount Theater in Anderson Indiana and the renowned Rockford Belle in Rockford, Ohio. His recent activities reflect his writing interests as well as the development of his original music material.
